SSIA was one of the many volunteer mutual aid groups which sprung up in response to the coronavirus pandemic in Skipton and surrounding villages. The SSIA team soon had their team of keen volunteers organised into a professional and well run organisation to meet the needs of their communities. They created a system for taking referrals then arranging a volunteer to  do shopping, collect prescriptions, walk dogs or refer the individual to receive help from a more relevant organisation.

SSIA were a pleasure to work with throughout the coronavirus lockdown response and CDC were impressed with their enthusiasm and effectiveness in adapting to the changing situations. We look forward to working with them in the long term.
